Welcome to Asp TutorialsThis website contains tutorials for ASP.NET 2, Visual Basic 2005 and SQL Server 2005. I started off using the Express editions (i.e. the free versions). When I do ASP.NET I use C# a lot, but when I'm doing Windows Forms I use VB.net. Don't ask why! I have now moved onto Visual Studio 2005 Professional, but I have to say it doesn't do much that the Express versions don't do, if you are working with simple projects. On this website you will find lots of tutorials on various topics, but I tend to specialize in data bound controls, linking SQL Server databases to VB or ASP.NET front-ends. A lot of books and tutorials tell you plenty of nice information about how to make simple things work in ASP.NET and VB, but I find them lacking when it comes to the nitty-gritty of how to display and update databases. What I've set out to do is to describe many of the problems that I face in my work, and explain how I eventually solved them. I hope this helps you too. I've added about twenty-five tutorials so far, and I've got plans for lots more. I will also be implementing a commenting system so that you can give feedback and ask questions. I set this website up a few months ago, slapped Google Analytics tracking code on it, and then forgot to log into Analytics for ages. Suddenly I found that I had over 100 readers per day, so people must be finding this info useful! Ok, I hope you get your work done and you solve that tricky .net problem of yours! John |
